With 20 years of experience helping families find their dream homes, Janel Johnson is Central Vermont’s go-to real estate professional. Janel combines unmatched expertise with a genuine passion for helping clients navigate their real estate journey.

A Montpelier native, Janel graduated from Montpelier High School before earning a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Augustana College in Illinois and a Master’s in Higher Education Administration from UVM. Her early career focused on leadership training and career development at UVM and CCV, as well as creating civic education programs for the Vermont Secretary of State. These experiences honed her skills in communication, negotiation, and community building—skills she uses daily to support her clients.

After living in Chicago, Iowa, and Boston, Janel returned to Central Vermont in the early '90s, drawn back by the beauty and close-knit community of her hometown. She and her husband Ken raised their three children in Montpelier, ensuring they had the same strong ties to Vermont that Janel treasures.

Janel’s work goes beyond buying and selling homes—she’s helped families across generations, from first-time buyers to those assisting aging parents in transitioning to senior living. Her dedication to personalized service and finding the right fit for every client sets her apart.

When she’s not helping clients, Janel is deeply involved in her community. She supports organizations like the Central Vermont Humane Society, Montpelier Food Shelf, and Capital City Concerts, embodying her commitment to giving back.

In her free time, Janel and her family embrace Vermont’s outdoors, whether it’s hiking, snowshoeing, or enjoying time on the water. She also loves quiet moments spent reading, gardening, or walking her dog through Hubbard Park.

For Janel, Vermont isn’t just a place to live—it’s a place to thrive. She’s excited to help you find your perfect home in the Green Mountain state.
